STUDIO MANAGER

Little Low is excited to be hiring a new Studio Manager to oversee daily studio operations. This is a vital role within our company and one that requires the perfect fit. If you're a highly reliable, self-motivated person interested in managing the daily operations and small team within a design-centric boutique product studio then you may just be the perfect fit!

Our Studio Manager is responsible for assuring retail and wholesale orders are sent out within their shipping window and that our customers are kept informed and happy. The Studio Manager should be comfortable in a leadership position as they will oversee a small staff of 1-3 Studio Assistants. The Owner/Designer of Little Low works mostly from New York and will travel into Austin every 8-10 weeks. The Studio Manager will be the "eyes and ears" of the Owner/Designer while she is away and will communicate with her daily on the needs/happenings of the business.

The Right Applicant Will:

  • Be an open and honest leader and communicator, not afraid to admit mistakes or recognize issues
  • Excel in an environment that requires multi-tasking, organizational skills, and attention to details
  • Be a highly dependable person who feels just as comfortable working independently as they do within a team
  • Be familiar with the 'maker movement' and the selling channels within which they do business
  • Have impeccable email and communication skills 
  • Enjoy creative problem solving and implementing new ideas to help the business run more smoothly and efficiently
  • Be positive and pleasant to work with 
  • Have reliable transportation 
  • Be able to lift at least 25 pounds 

This role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Creating and implementing the production schedule and assuring all orders are sent out on time
  • Managing the Production Assistant(s) and helping them to fulfill orders if and when necessary
  • Tracking/maintaining product and production inventory levels using spreadsheets
  • Planning for and possibly participating in holiday and special studio events including East Austin Studio Tour, Blue Genie, and other various pop-up retail and wholesale trade shows, some of which on weekends and many of which occurring this Fall/Winter
  • Opening and closing the studio and assuring the space is clean, organized and ready to be worked in
  • Communicating daily with customers (via email and Etsy messages) and the Owner/Designer (via email, Skype, and phone calls)

  • Have had some basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Have held a leadership position within a small costumer-focused boutique
  • Have experience working with QuickBooks Online, ShipStation, Etsy, Squarespace or other online selling platforms
  • Have ever worked with a laser etcher/cutter 

This position is NOT right for you if you:

  • Are expecting to design new products - although we love new product ideas, this is not a design position
  • Prefer to work in large groups. This person will work for several hours alone and the remaining hours will be spent with 1-3 assistants
  • Are uncomfortable working in feminine atmospheres - this is a woman-owned business whose core customer is women. 

*This is a part-time position (15-30 hours weekly) with an hourly pay of $14-$17, commensurate with experience. We are a company that recognizes and celebrates talent and growth; there will be opportunities for bonuses and raises.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Do you enjoy working with your hands to create beautiful products that make people happy? Little Low Studio is hiring 1-3 new Production Assistants to help fulfill wholesale and retail orders. Assistants will focus on packaging, finishing, and assembling product, helping keep track of inventory, and aiding our Studio Manager with daily operations and tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for college students and recent graduates to get their feet wet in a small, design-oriented business with a fun but hardworking team of coworkers. 

The Right Applicant Will:

  • Love packaging and assembling stationery and boutique gift goods
  • Be dependable, trustworthy and responsible
  • Be a highly organized, detail-oriented person who enjoys keeping their workspace tidy
  • Be a quick learner who takes initiative and has pride in their own work
  • Be a self-starter who does not require constant supervision
  • Be positive and pleasant to work with 
  • Have reliable transportation 
  • Be able to lift at least 25 lbs

  • Have had some basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Are interested in assisting with special studio events such as East Austin Studio Tour, Blue Genie, and other various retail pop-up shops, some of which on weekends and many of which occurring this Fall/Winter
  • Have ever worked with a laser etcher/cutter

This position is NOT right for you if you:

  • Are expecting to design new products - although we love new product ideas, this is not a design position
  • Prefer to work within large groups. This role is within a small group of 2-4 people
  • Are uncomfortable working in feminine atmospheres - this is a woman-owned business whose core customer is women

This is a part-time position (15-20 hours weekly) with an hourly pay of $10-$12, commensurate with experience. We are a company that recognizes and celebrates talent and growth; there will be opportunities for bonuses and raises.
